Polar Bear's White Fur Is Just An Illusion. The Truth Will Surprise You !

We all know these cute but vicious animals. I'm talking about polar bears. Polar bears as we all know it live in extreme cold temperatures. We're talking about places like northern russia. Come to think of it they, don't really live in many places. Just to name a few, northern Canada,  Alaska, Greenland, basically the arctic circle and as I mentioned before Norther Russia.

Not may places. Living in these cold climates Polar Bears grow fur. White fur more precisely. Actually if we really look at the fur closely, it isn't white. In fact its not white at all ! You're probably thinking "What ??...". "You might also be thinking that if its not white then what is it ? ". Well let me add to your confusion that its not any shade of cream, yellow or anything close to white. In fact the fur doesn't have a color at all ! Yes it is colorless or as we like to call it clear. Yes you heard me right. Polar Bear's fur is actually clear not white.

Then why does it look white you ask? Well let me answer that question. Its all on how the light reflects the fur. It looks white for the same reason 1 bubble is clear but a lot of them together appear white.

Just like how clouds look white even though they are made up of water which is clear in liquid form, or at least close to clear.
